In 1957, Varkey Thomman carried a handful of nutmeg seeds from his ancestral home in Kottayam to the wild forests of Idukki. Through years of careful selection and propagation, he introduced the Punnathanam nutmeg in 1994—a variety that redefined nutmeg farming.
Today, his son Shajan Varghese continues this legacy, blending tradition with innovation to bring you a spice celebrated for its size, flavor, and sustainability.
